Lake Greeson

Impounded: 1950

Surface Acres: 7,000

Shore Line: 134 Miles

Max Depth: 150 ft.

Lake Greeson is a 7000 acre lake located 6 miles north of Murfreesboro Arkansas. The lake was formed when the Narrows Dam was built on the Little Missouri River in 1950. The dam and lake were built as a result of the efforts of Martin White Greeson and from whom the lake was renamed around 1976. Until that time the lake was known as Narrows Lake.

Lake Greeson is a 12 mile long Reservoir that is riddled with steep rocky ridges that form numerous islands and long peninsulas extending into the lake. With an average depth of 40 feet and a max depth of 150 feet, this clear water lake is a perfect habitat for Small Mouth Bass. Lake Greeson is also loaded with great numbers of Large Mouth Bass and Kentucky Spotted Bass so you have the making of a triple whammy in bass fishing.

You will have a big time dissecting this body of water. You have both shallow, and deep flooded timber, big steep ledges, long tapered points and large flats. On Greeson you will have to pick your poison. Are you going to finesse those smallies into biting, play the numbers game and chase those schooled up spotted bass. Or maybe swing for the fences and those five big large mouth bites. The option is yours on this lake.

Once you have decided what you are doing you have to decide how. Are you going to concentrate on the flooded timber with spinner baits and lipless crank baits? Or will you slow down and dissect it with soft plastics, or maybe a jig? Do you use a Shaky Head on the steep ledges and points? Or is a big Football Jig the Key? You could even throw a big crank bait or the A-rig in the drains and creeks. The choices are many on this lake. But remember this is clear water, so maybe even a small finesse jig is the key to unlocking what’s below.

If You are lucky enough to find some of the many brush piles that have been placed in Lake Greeson you may just hit a home run. There are many ways to fish this not so large body of water. Who will unlock the key to the biggest limit of the day? Is It You?

You will really have to put in the work prior to this tournament. And if you do You might just have a day of a lifetime.
